Young Scholars' Institute (YSI) is a year-round non-profit, after school learning center located in Trenton, New Jersey. The mission of Young Scholars' Institute is to empower Trenton area youth through educational, cultural and recreational activities to help them develop the skills necessary to excel academically and to maximize their academic, vocational and career choices. Many of the students served by YSI come from low-income and moderate income households that lack the financial, educational, and emotional support needed to effectively prepare their children for high academic achievement. To address this inequity, YSI programs are either free or offered at extremely discounted prices, thereby enabling our students to better access the supplemental pre-college activities completed by their affluent counterparts with whom they will compete for college admissions and jobs.
