Two weeks ago, our partner Manna Ministries International returned to Restoration of Victory Rescue Centre in Githurai, Kenya—a place that always tugs at our hearts. When they first walked in, the children were quiet. Eyes down. Spirits low. Some too shy to look up. But by the time they left… oh, what a difference a little love can make. Laughter filled the air, and children jumped on new beds like it was Christmas morning. 🎄🛏️ This visit wasn’t just about checking in. It was about showing up—with intention, with kindness, with hope. The kitchen—once flooded and crumbling—has a new cement floor and a repaired roof. No more rain pouring in like “open heaven,” as one staff member put it. Just a safe, clean place to cook warm meals. The toilets, which hadn’t worked in so long the children had to use the bush, were rebuilt. Finally, privacy and dignity. And then the beds… brand new frames, soft mattresses, clean sheets, and for the first time—mosquito nets. “This changes our rooms forever,” someone said through tears. And it does. It really does. They even cooked a special meal. 🍽️❤️ Because sometimes, healing starts with some- thing as simple as a plate of food handed with love. One of the children looked up and said, “Thank you for cooking for us…for visiting us.” And in that moment, everything else faded away. Because that’s what this is really about—reminding them they matter. 🌟 To everyone who gives to The World Orphan Fund—you made this possible. Thank you. 💛 (see 1st comment for a video of the visit) #theworldorphanfund #mannaministriesinternational #kenya #RestoringHope #dignityforeverychild (fb)

In Malawi, more than one million children have been orphaned or abandoned—but 15,000 of them face the harshest, most heartbreaking reality. Often called “throwaway children,” these boys and girls—some as young as two—are surviving completely alone. They sleep in fields, under cardboard boxes, or behind roadside stalls. They have no parents. No food. No shelter. No protection. Nearly 30% suffer from acute malnutrition. And just when help is needed most, many international NGOs have shut down operations in Malawi—leaving the most vulnerable with no one to turn to. But that’s not the end of their story. Last month, we sent emergency funding to feed these 15,000 children for two full months. 💪 Thanks to a growing coalition—Malawi’s U.S. Ambassador, Chancellor Esme Chombo, and our partner on the ground, The Butterfly Collaborative,—food is now reaching children who were once considered unreachable. Thank you to our donors, who have made it possible for these children to sleep tonight with full stomachs and hope for their future. #theworldorphanfund #butterflycollaborative #Malawi #childhunger #feedthechildren (fb)
