✨ Introducing the wonderful ensemble of I Know What the Red Clay Looks Like! ✨ We hope you’ll join these powerful storytellers as we honor the legacies of the Black feminist writers who made their voices known through art-making along the lines of race, gender, sexuality and class. For more information about this free event, visit the link in our bio. (fb)

Paying homage to a historic lineage of Black feminist writers and their impact on our current literary landscape, I Know What the Red Clay Looks Like is a book by and for the storytellers, poets, playwrights, dreamers, and all readers interested in what it means to make art within and from marginalized spaces. Thirty years after its original publication, this newly imagined edition brings the work and musings of fifteen Black literary luminaries in conversation with a new generation of writers and readers. Join us for this intergenerational call-and-response celebration featuring musical and spoken word performances from Black women and nonbinary artists, lifting up a chorus of past and present voices that are unbound by time. This event is free and open to the public. Admission and seating are on a first-come, first-served basis. Visit the link below for more information about this event, and how you can secure priority access. https://www.peopleshistory.us/events/red-clay-black-women-writers (fb)
