Providing up to $20,000 in college scholarship to students of Pittsburgh Public Schools and revitalizing the city of Pittsburgh. The Pittsburgh Promise provides college scholarships to transform the lives of children and vitalize the region. The Pittsburgh Promise promotes high educational aspirations among urban youth, funds scholarships for post-secondary access, and fuels a prepared and diverse regional workforce.

Promise Executive Director, Saleem Ghubril was the speaker for the University of Pittsburgh commencement of the School of Education on May 1st. More than 300 new teachers graduated that day, among them were at least four Promise scholars.
