To preserve and restore the Bird Homestead and Rye Meeting House, two adjoining historic properties located on the banks of the Blind Brook estuary, to conserve their coastal habitat, biodiversity, and natural systems, and to inspire, foster, and promote an appreciation of coastal ecology, historic preservation, science, sustainability, and the legacy of the Bird family.

Upcoming Events Our Mission To promote an appreciation of historic preservation art science and literature inspired by the legacies of The Bird Family William Voris and the Rye Meeting House. Legacies of men and women who explored millions of years of history and circumnavigated the globe through careers in biology earth sciences to art childrens literature homesteading to handson learning and entrepreneurship to environmentalism. Our goal is to provide visitors with endless opportunities to learn engage and ground themselves in an era when inperson human contact was not only how we connected but what gave us purpose.

We were so proud to receive an Archival Needs Assessment through the Documentary Heritage and Preservation Services for New York (DHPSNY) Planning & Assessment Services. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to DHPSNY’s Kate Philipson and CCAHA’s Kaitlyn Pettengill who came to our property last month to examine our archival program. What a fun and extremely helpful visit this was, learning about collections management amongst many other topics covered.
