Founded in 1960, the American Brass Quintet seeks to promote serious brass chamber music. TO ADVANCE PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE OF THE ART OF BRASS CHAMBER MUSIC; TO RE-ESTABLISH AND FURTHER THE IMPORTANCE AND APPRECIATION OF CHAMBER MUSIC FOR BRASS INSTRUMENTS; TO PROMOTE THE PERFORMANCE OF BRASS CHAMBER MUSIC; TO INITIATE THE COMPOSITION OF NEW CHAMBER MUSIC FOR BRASS; TO FURTHER PUBLICATION OF BRASS CHAMBER MUSIC; TO ASSIST BRASS MUSIC ARTISTS WHEREVER POSSIBLE AND TO ENGAGE IN ACTIVITIES RELATED TO THE FOREGOING.
