Fine Arts Radio was founded, as its by-laws stated, to provide non-commercial educational programs or to operate non-commercial radio stations and/or to own non-commercial radio stations. Over time, that purpose found its focus of mission in supporting (through fundraising, advising, and general professional interaction) the separate and independent radio stations of WMNR Fine Arts Radio, over the operations of which Fine Arts Radio, Inc. exercises no control.
