This semester, Point Park launched a free, 8-week professional etiquette course to help juniors and seniors build soft skills like networking, interviewing and public speaking. Taught by Melissa Botta Havran '22 and based on Emily Post’s 1922 etiquette guide, the course included role play, resume-building, headshots and an etiquette dinner with alumni. The program is also laying the foundation for a growing mentorship initiative, with 55 alumni already signed up to support students’ professional growth. CENT and the School of Continuing and Professional Studies have launched a new non-credit certificate in esports program management. The four-course program is offered online asynchronously and is taught by Dr. Don Marinelli and Chris Gaul, who each bring a particular area of expertise to the course. Designed for educators in the K-12 system or in higher education institutions, the certificate program will prepare its graduates to either start or improve their school’s esports program.
