This Women’s Health Month, we’re shedding light on an often-overlooked issue: COPD in women. While often associated with older male smokers, COPD is increasingly being diagnosed in women—including those who have never smoked. “Today, there are people with COPD who never smoked cigarettes, the greatest proportion of whom are women,” says Dr. Jamie Garfield, pulmonologist at the Temple Lung Center and professor at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine.
