The seniors joined hundreds of Catholic School students from across the state of Texas this past Tuesday, April 1 in Austin for Texas Catholic Advocacy Day. This event is hosted by the Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops and only happens every other year when the Texas Legislature is in session. Our seniors participated in a mock legislative hearing, they attended a rally with the Texas Bishops and were able to see the political process in action by attending hearings in the Senate Chamber and in the House Committee rooms. Congratulations to the track team on an excellent performance this past Saturday at the Northland Christian Track Meet. With over 20 schools competing, the girls finished in 1st place overall and the boys team finished 2nd. There were lots of great performances and personal records. The following athletes earned medals for top 3 finishes. • Lucy Womack finished 1st in the 3200m run, 2nd in the 1600, and 3th in the 400. • Caden Dixon finished in first in the 400m dash • Hallie Martin finished 1st in the 300m hurdles, and 2nd in the 100m hurdles. • Camille Roblesgil finished 1st in the 100m hurdles, and 2nd in the 300m hurdles. • Caleb Piefer finished 2nd in the 3200m run, and 3rd in the 1600m run • Sean Toomey finished 1st in the 300m hurdles • Lucy Ikechukwu finished 1st in the discus • The girls 4x100 relay team of Riley Martin, Lucy Ikechukwu, Dara Umoh, Hallie Martin finished 2nd • The girls 4x200 relay team of Riley Martin, Arianna Pacheco, Sarah Shannon, and Lucy Ikechukwu, finished in 3rd place • The boys 4x200 relay team of Enrique Guzman, Luke Szostak, Gian Alpuche, and Patrick Ngo, finished in 3rd place • The boys 4x400 relay team of Christian Picard, Joseph Hinkle, Sean Toomey, and Caden Dixon finished 1st!
