Tune in and find your new best friend! Join us Saturday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a special adoption event presented by Scenthound and featuring a LIVE broadcast from MARC Media Group stations from our shelter! Stop by the Humane Society of North Central Florida (4205 NW 6th St, Gainesville) to meet your future best friend and enjoy a day full of tail wags, happy faces, and second chances. All adult dogs (5+ months) are just $100, thanks to a generous grant from the ASPCA! We’re also incredibly grateful to EarthWise Pet Supply & Grooming Gainesville and Tomlinson Motor Company for their generous support in helping make this event possible. Pictured: Meet Baron! He is a two-year-old sweetheart who’s house-trained, dog-friendly, and totally apartment-approved. He’s got great leash manners, knows sit and shake, and after a nice walk, he’s all about quality cuddle time. #HSNCF #AdoptDontShop #PetAdoption #GainesvilleFL #ShelterPets #AdoptionEvent #MarcMedia RockIt 100.5 I Am Country 106.9 The Beach Gainesville 100.9 R&B 94.1 (fb)

Found Kittens in Alachua County? Here’s What to Do: Before taking action, check if the kittens are injured or critically ill. ✅ If yes, call an animal rescue immediately. ❌ If no, try to estimate their age AND look for a mother cat or a nest nearby. ⌚ For kittens 0–6 weeks old: If you find a nest or see mom nearby, leave the kittens where they are. A kitten's best chance of survival is with their mother. You can help by providing mom with food, water, and shelter. Contact a TNR (trap-neuter-return) group to have her and the kittens fixed when they’re old enough. 👀 No mom or nest in sight? She may be out hunting or too scared to return while people are nearby. Watch from a distance for a few hours. Pro tip: Sprinkle flour in a ring around the nest and check later for paw prints—if you see them, mom came back! ⌚ For kittens 7+ weeks old and friendly: Use social media to help find them a home. These kittens are adoptable and will be safer in a home. For spay/neuter services, contact the Humane Society of North Central Florida or Operation Catnip. Signs a kitten may need human help: 🌡 Temperature – Are they cold to the touch? 🛁 Cleanliness – Are they dirty, crusty, or soiled? ⚖ Weight/Fullness – Do they look bony or have sunken bellies? 📣 Noise – Are they crying loudly and consistently? 😷 Sickness/Injury – Do they have discharge, wounds, or closed/crusted eyes? Still unsure? Contact one of the following: 📱 Alachua County Animal Resources – (352) 264-6870 📱 Operation Catnip – (352) 380-0940 📱 Humane Society of North Central Florida – (352) 373-5855 To access a printable Found Kitten Resources PDF, visit tinyurl.com/found-kitten-resources.
