VISITING HOMECARE SERVICE WAS FOUNDED 55 YEARS AGO BY A GROUP OF VOLUNTEERS WHO SAW A NEED FOR A SERVICE TO HELP THEIR NEIGHBORS REMAIN SAFELY AND COMFORTABLY IN THEIR HOMES DURING TIMES OF ILLNESS, DISABILITY, FRAILTY, OR CONVALESCENCE. VHS BEGAN WITH A $2,000 DONATION FROM THE POINT PLEASANT ROTARY CLUB, "A FRIEND'S HOUSE" ADULT DAY CARE FOR ADULTS WITH DEMENTIA, ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE OR MEMORY PROBLEMS BEGAN 30 YEARS AGO. IT IS THE MISSION OF VHS TO PROVIDE HOME HEALTH AIDE SERVICE AND/OR ADULT DAY CARE SERVICE TO ANYONE IN NEED REGARDLESS OF ABILITY TO PAY.
