“This is Naomi. She started out at the Ranch in Freedom Reins but has since transitioned to our Bridges Mentoring Program! A phrase that helps when Naomi feels scared/nervous is, “Naomi can do hard things”. Throughout the time I have been Naomi's mentor, she has learned to do many hard things! Naomi used to only get on a horse when she had people walking alongside her. As of this month she was steering the horse 100% by herself for the whole ride! There was a point where Naomi wanted me to connect the lead rope, but she remembered that she could do hard things! Naomi also got to lead Maisie for the first time. Maisie is our little mini-mule who has been very hesitant with people, although, she has a soft spot for Naomi. I love being able to witness these connections! That is what the Ranch is here for, to be a bridge to relationship (human and animal), and Jesus.
