Alexandria Police Foundation
The mission of the Alexandria Police Foundation (APF), a nonprofit charitable organization initially founded to provide health insurance for retiring police dogs, has evolved to also assist the Alexandria Police Department by providing resources that improve officer performance, morale and effectiveness in their efforts to safeguard our community. The APF works with the Alexandria Police Department leadership, with the endorsement of the Alexandria City government, to seek resources and grants to support police initiatives.Our goals and initiatives:- Purchase of medical insurance for retired K-9 police dogs- Scholarships to police officers to foster excellence in policing- Research/study efforts designed to improve law enforcement services- Alexandria Police Youth Camp- Funding of the Police Memorial saluting fallen officers- Support programs that promote the health and welfare of our officers- HEROES (Honor Every Responsible Officer's Eternal Sacrifice)
