As part of the Two Lights for Tomorrow initiative, CT's Old State House and the Ruth Wyllys Chapter of DAR will host a food drive honoring the 250th anniversary of the founding of the USA. Visit on Sat., April 19, between 12-4 pm, bring a non-perishable food item and admission is HALF-PRICE! Come for a guided or self-guided tour of the historic site including the the Senate Chambers, House of Representatives, and Rev. Joseph Steward's Collection of Curiosities. Connecticut became known as the "Provision State" after providing Washington's Continental Army with food, clothing, and equipment during the Revolutionary War. Matt LaCoille, Director of Development for Connecticut Democracy Center, has earned the official title Duke of the Dunkin Run from colleagues at Connecticut History Day for volunteering at our recent Mansfield Regional History Day competition. Connecticut History Day is seeking more volunteers to serve as judges for the statewide competition on May 3 at Central Connecticut State University. Are you passionate about history?
