Feline Friends
Organization Overview
Feline Friends is a U.S. nonprofit organization focused on cat rescue and adoption. With an Employer Identification Number (EIN) of 27-1370757, it operates as a foster-based, no-kill cat rescue organization serving the Chicago area.
Mission and Activities
The mission of Feline Friends is to alleviate the suffering of homeless pets by rescuing, spaying/neutering, and responsibly placing them in permanent homes. The organization also aims to advocate for proper animal treatment and care while enriching people's lives through successful adopter-animal matches. Additionally, it serves as a resource and support network for adopters and the broader community.
Feline Friends works exclusively with foster homes, as it does not maintain a physical shelter. The cats in their program often come from high-kill animal control facilities in Chicago and elsewhere in Illinois. All cats have been combo-tested for FIV/Feline Leukemia, spayed or neutered, vaccinated against distemper, microchipped, and dewormed.
Operations and Structure
The organization relies entirely on volunteer efforts and is funded by private donations. Being a 501(c)(3) organization, all donations made to Feline Friends are tax deductible. The group is committed to local adoptions, encouraging those outside the Chicago area to explore local shelters for pet adoption opportunities.
Feline Friends engages with the community through various platforms to promote awareness and support for animal welfare. The organization's activities are rooted in a belief in the importance of fostering a supportive network for both animals and adopters.

Meet Teapot — a total sweetheart wrapped in fur! She’s wonderfully social, always happy to greet you with her signature raspy little meow — though sometimes she opens her mouth and forgets to make a sound, which is ridiculously cute. This easygoing girl loves nothing more than curling up for cuddles or napping in her favorite cozy box with a blanket. She’s also a master biscuit maker, kneading away with pure contentment — which is pretty fitting, because if Teapot were a snack, she’d be warm chocolate chip cookies: irresistibly sweet, comforting, and soft right to her core. Teapot is calm, friendly, and would thrive as a solo kitty where she can soak up all the love and attention. If you're looking for a laid-back, affectionate companion, Teapot is ready to fill your home (and heart) with sweetness. If you live in Chicago and are interested in learning more about Teapot, please contact Toni McNaughton at tonimcn@rcn.com and Lisa Ward at catladychicago@yahoo.com. Please tell us a bit about your situation, what you are looking for, the composition of your current household (the other humans and/or pets who already live there). Inquires with these questions answered are responded to promptly. We are always in need of foster homes. If you are not able to adopt, but are interested in fostering or know someone who might be, we would love to hear from you! Please contact Toni McNaughton at tonimcn@rcn.com or Lisa Ward at catladychicago@yahoo.com to learn more. Photos by Brenda Stewart. (fb)

And now a word from one of our adopters... "Just wanted to give an update and send over some photos. Velcro (now Frankie) is very comfortable and happy in his new home! It took Charlie a few days to adjust to his presence but now they are running around playing regularly. Frankie is such a sweet boy and is cuddled up on the couch next to me as I type this. Thank you so much for helping us find each other :) " You are very welcome. If you are looking for new friend with four legs and you live in Chicago, please contact Toni McNaughton at tonimcn@rcn.com and Lisa Ward at catladychicago@yahoo.com.
