United Spinal Association opposes the current budget reconciliation bill the House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman proposed. This bill would result in at least 13.7 million Americans losing their health insurance coverage, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office. It would subject Medicaid beneficiaries to intrusive and unreasonable requirements to maintain their needed coverage. By putting restrictions on states from raising revenue to pay for Medicaid, this bill passes the buck to the states to gut disability services, including the home and community-based services on which wheelchair users rely every day.
