🎄✨ A Christmas Story of Freedom! ✨🎄 On Christmas Day 2024, Palal and the New Hope Prison Outreach team visited Mawlaikalay Prison to share the Gospel and a Christmas meal with the prisoners and staff. While there, Palal discovered a heartbreaking situation: 🔹 7 men, 🔹 2 women, and 🔹 1 four-year-old girl — all Indian nationals who had already served their sentences but were still trapped in prison because of the political situation. Some of them approached Palal and asked for his help to return home to northeast India. 🇮🇳 Palal offered to escort them personally, but officials said the Indian government had to be involved. So, Palal took their case to the proper authorities. 📅 On Dec 31, he met with Mr. Pathek of the Ministry of Indian National Affairs. 📅 On Mar 26, he met with Mr. Ashih Sharma, Deputy Chief of Mission, who assured him the case was being worked on. 📅 In mid-May — the breakthrough came: India agreed to repatriate them! 🙌 India also committed to cover their food, lodging, and transportation. Palal worked with officials to sort out the details and get everything ready. 📅 On May 28, the prisoners were released and flown to Yangon International Airport. That night, Palal connected with leaders in India to arrange a warm welcome when they arrived. 🤝 📅 On May 30, they landed in Kolkata at 2:40 a.m. 📅 On May 31, they will continue their journey to Aizawl (Mizoram), then to Lamka (Manipur), where family and friends will welcome them home. 🏡 💔 One especially moving part: Ms. Nemneilhing gave birth shortly after arriving at the prison. Her daughter, Miss Ngaineicing, has spent her entire life behind bars — until now. She finally knows freedom! 🌸 We at MyHope are deeply grateful for Palal, Kikim, Pastor Sei Lal, and all those who serve in our New Hope Prison Outreach. The pillars for the roof of the Boys' Dorm building have been poured - right before the heavy rains came! God has been so good to provide the perfect weather for our construction. Now the rains are falling hard and the area is flooding, but we have completed the concrete! (fb)
