We provide funding, intense activity based therapy, advocacy, & support to help those with SCI/D live an active healthy life TO INSPIRE THOSE WITH SPINAL CORD INJURIES TO RISE ABOVE THEIR CHALLENGES BY PROMOTING PHYSICAL INDEPENDENCE AND TO PROVIDE EMOTIONAL SUPPORT AND SPIRITUAL HEALING TO FOSTER HOPE FOR A SUCCESSFUL AND FULFILLING LIFE.

Motion Project Foundation Inc is a nonprofit organization based in Cheektowaga, New York, dedicated to assisting individuals who have suffered spinal cord injuries and their families. Established with the mission to inspire those affected by spinal cord injuries to overcome their challenges, the foundation promotes physical independence and provides emotional support and comprehensive rehabilitation resources.
History and Background
The foundation was founded by Natalie Marie Barnhard, a physical therapist assistant and licensed massage therapist, who herself sustained a spinal cord injury in 2004. Drawing from her personal experience with the difficulties of obtaining rehabilitation therapy, medical equipment, and home modifications, Barnhard established the organization to address these critical needs for others facing similar circumstances. The foundation was originally known as Wheels With Wings Foundation before becoming Motion Project Foundation.
Mission and Vision
Motion Project Foundation aims to facilitate recovery and improve the quality of life for individuals with spinal cord injuries by:
- Providing funding for medical equipment, home and vehicle modifications, and intensive rehabilitation therapies.
