The National China Garden Foundation is organized, and shall be operated exclusively, for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes, including to support the financial resources, development, execution, operation, usage and public appreciation of the National China Garden, a 12-acre classical Chinese garden complex, to be constructed and maintained on the grounds of the U.S. National Arboretum, and to serve as an independent and voluntary organization to support and cooperate with the Government of the United States and, in particular, the U.S. Department of Agriculture under that Department’s authorities, and with the Government of the People’s Republic of China, and in particular, the State Forestry Administration, under that Administration’s applicable authorities.
