Metanoia Ministries

Purpose and Mission

Metanoia Prison Ministries exists to make disciples of prisoners, calling them to a life of true freedom through faith in Jesus Christ. Their mission includes connecting believers with the visible church, emphasizing baptism and church membership.

History

The organization was founded as a reintegration home in 1996. After closing in 2000, it was restored in 2005 with a focus on discipleship during incarceration. Over the years, Metanoia has expanded its partnerships and programs, including a mentoring program at Walker State Prison in 2012 and a ministry partnership with Ligonier Ministries.

• Mentoring, Discipling, and Reintegration Ministries: These initiatives help prisoners integrate into society and grow in their faith.
• Correspondence Ministry: Provides resources and support to prisoners through correspondence.

Recent Developments

In 2024, Lowell Ivey became the new Executive Director, marking a transition towards a more integrated partnership with the visible church through Mission to North America (MNA).
