America's premiere Black comic book convention encouraging youth literacy and creativity via comic books! ECBACC, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, presents The East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention, America's premiere Black comic book convention encouraging youth literacy and expression through reading, writing and drawing comic books. ECBACC, Inc., a 501(c)(3) community-based educational, literacy, literary and artistic consortium, was established in Philadelphia, PA in 2002 to provide a network of talented comic book creators and artists interested in addressing issues related to art, education, literacy and self-esteem. ECBACC hosts / facilitates several initiatives, among them: an annual reception and convention in Philadelphia showcasing African American comic book creators, filmmakers and graphic artists; professional comic book creation workshops focusing on skill development and enhancement; & city-wide workshops for school-age children promoting artistic creativity, education and self-esteem through the use of comic book art and story-telling.
