Organized Feb 22, 1884, the VFACNY represents NYC’s volunteer fire companies. The mission of the Volunteer Firemen's Association of the City of New York, Inc. is to operate for the advancement of all matters pertaining to the welfare, government, and operations of the eight active Volunteer Fire Departments in the City of New York. The organization aims to promote and enlarge a more friendly intercourse between the active and exempt members of the various volunteer fire organizations, to foster interest in all matters appertaining to the welfare of the volunteer firefighters in the City of New York, and to seek protective legislation and ordinances for the benefit of its members.
