Spiritual Food for Today 6/2/2025: Today’s readings (Acts 19:1-8; John 16:29-33) tell us that we should long to be filled with the Spirit so with God we can transform the whole of creation into the realized Kingdom of God. The world around us seems pretty scattered and divided, and it is hard to have hope that we can live in real unity, even in the Church, among the Baptized. Pope Leo XIV on his inauguration Mass desired “for a united Church, a sign of unity and communion, which becomes a leaven for a reconciled world.” As we look back every time we celebrate the Eucharist, the peace and consolation of the Spirit that we feel, we can’t but help thinking that Christ has conquered our fears. And it will always occur to us that He continues to conquer fear and despair as we see the peace and radiant joy on the faces of each other. So, He really will end all divisions. (fb)
