We're thrilled to announce that the Clyde and Mary Acord Fund has awarded a $1,000 grant to the Tri-County Triangle Trail! This special endowment, established by the Acord family, will provide ongoing support to our beloved trail, ensuring it remains a vibrant community resource for years to come. Clyde and Mary Acord purchased the 240-acre farm in 1940 and their three daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren wish to continue the family legacy through this endowment. While farming the land, many relics were uncovered by Clyde from the Hopewell culture. Mary was a history scholar telling stories of the Hopewell archaeological discoveries on their land. After a fire destroyed their homeplace, their descendants established this endowment to honor Clyde and Mary and all the special memories made in this house and on the farm in general. Four generations of the Acord family gathered at a recent Triangle Trail meeting to present this meaningful gift. What a powerful testimony to see multiple generations coming together to support a community treasure that serves so many!
