SURFRIDER SPIRIT SESSIONS
Surfrider Spirit Sessions helps build healthy, resilient communities by supporting at-risk youth through surf mentorship and holistic, experiential, aina-based education and cultural activities. Our mission is to create and deliver holistic, ocean-based experiential education and mentoring programs and activities that connect, enhance, and fill in the gaps within existing nonprofit programs serving at-risk and adjudicated youth, teaching ocean awareness, environmental sensitivity and Hawaiian culture to the general community. SSS provides a motivational and communal pathway for youth to make positive life changes and the means to achieve greater life success.

SURFRIDER SPIRIT SESSIONS CATCHING WAVES AND CHANGING LIVES SURFRIDER SPIRIT SESSIONS Our Mission Surfrider Spirit Sessions empowers and transforms adjudicated atrisk or vulnerable youth through surfing and holistic oceanbased mentoring programs experiential educationand cultural activitiesand teaches ocean awareness Hawaiian culture and environmental sensitivity to the general community. Surf to the Turf 2025 Golf Tournament What We Do Spirit Sessions EightWeek Program 84hoursessions on consecutive Saturdays that include A dedicated 11 mentor Surf instruction surf time Group activities talk circles Minilessons in culture Environmentalscience Life skills discussions Surf log and journaling Malama aina beach cleanups Community service activities Junior Mentor Program Youth who show leadership potential are recruited from the core program as Junior Mentor interns where they assist in running core programs and other activities. Interns who become proficient in their duties earn paid positions as Junior Mentors where they gain work experience strengthen communication and further develop life skills. Surfari A youthdriven initiative that helps youth and mentors stay connected.
