A non-profit human service organization dedicated to providing direct services to over 3,500 people i Pioneer Center for Human Service’s mission is 'to help people live a dignified life of well-being, independence and inclusion'. Established in 1958 as a day school program for children with developmental disabilities, Pioneer Center evolved over the past 60 years to become one of the largest social service providers in the McHenry County (Illinois) area serving people with developmental disabilities, autism, mental illnesses, those experiencing homelessness and at-risk youth. Pioneer Center’s employees strive to fulfill its mission through three service pillars: Developmental Disability, Homeless (McHenry County PADS) and Behavioral Health Services. All Pioneer Center programs provide access to community linkages, education, and training that prepares clients for independent living.
