THE ORGANIZATION USES ITS MEMBERSHIP DUES TO PROMOTE THE INTEREST OF PUBLIC EDUCATION AND ADVANCE THE STANDARDS OF THE TEACHING PROFESSION. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO USES ITS MEMBERSHIP DUES TO REPRESENT MEMBERS' INTEREST IN NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE CORNWALL CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT ADMINISTRATORS AND BOARD OF EDUCATION AND TO OFFER FINANCIAL AID TO THE COMMUNITY OF STUDENTS AND PARENTS OF STUDENTS. FUNDS ARE ALSO USED TO OFFSET THE COSTS OF TUITION AND TEXTBOOKS FOR FAMILIES IN THE COMMUNITY WHO HAVE STUDENTS ENTERING COLLEGE.

It is also the role of the CCTA to represent teacher interests in negotiations with the Cornwall School District39s Administrators and Board of Education. Concurrently the CCTA seeks to encourage teacher participation in the resolution of school related problems as well as provide professional personnel with a channel for grievance procedures. Along with securing the conditions necessary for the greatest efficiency and effectiveness for teaching the Cornwall Central Teachers39 Association39s responsibilities also include urging its members to attain a genuine spirit of professional ethics and discouraging discrimination in all its forms and manifestations.
