AL-SHIFA CLINIC INC

The mission of Al-Shifa Free Clinic is to provide free primary medical, dental, and various specialty care services to the indigent and uninsured, irrespective of race, creed, ethnicity, gender, or religion. The clinic was founded by a group of altruistic doctors as well as citizens of San Bernardino County who wanted to make a difference having seen the need for healthcare amongst the members of their community. The clinic has become a medical home for uninsured and underserved individuals, offering medical, dental, and mental health services free of charge to those who might otherwise not have access to necessary medical attention. Our services include on-site preventative care, chronic disease management, pediatrics, specialty care, laboratory services, and some vaccinations (e.g. influenza vaccine) as well as outside referrals (for non-available services such as mammograms, etc.). Specific services include available on-site EKGs, Echocardiograms, Cardiac Treadmill Testing, health education classes, preventative screenings (cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity), diabetes self-management training, smoking cessation counseling, and lifestyle counseling (nutrition, diet, exercise), as well as minor surgeries on-site. What makes Al-Shifa Clinic unique is that it hosts a wide variety of physicians including orthopedic surgeons, nephrologists, cardiologists, pulmonologists, dentists, gynecologists and physical therapists. This program offers its patients primary care on-site in numerous locales, as with flu shots and mammograms in various locations throughout the community with our mobile medical clinic. Beyond location, our mobile medical clinics provide referrals for specialized care and laboratory services.
