The League of Women Voters of Connecticut Inc. (LWVCT) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to civic engagement and voter education. The Connecticut chapter of the League of Women Voters was established on January 18, 1921, in New Haven, Connecticut. The initial purpose of LWVCT was to develop a high level of civic awareness and legislative engagement among women voters. Mabel C. Washburn was elected as the first president of the organization.

In its first year, LWVCT formed local and county leagues and established seven standing committees focused on issues such as citizenship, legal status of women, election laws, food supply, social hygiene, child welfare, and women in industry.
