After 17 years of teaching in public schools, Summer Palacios knew she wanted to do something different to make a real impact on children and educators. With no set plan, she took a leap of faith and, alongside her husband, opened Promesas de Esperanza Childcare, a bilingual childcare center in Glendale, Arizona dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable care to families in need. Rooted in strong values and built on experience, Promesa is more than a daycare—it’s a promise of hope. Thanks to a LISC loan for tenant improvements, Promesa has been able to expand its impact—upgrading facilities, and launching a commercial kitchen to provide fresh, nutritious meals daily.
