Spotlight Theatre of Central Florida
The mission of Spotlight Theatre of Central Florida is to provide theatrical presentations that go beyond the expectations of its audiences in all areas of enjoyment providing opportunities to perform on and off stage theater involvement for all ages of the community it serves.Spotlight Theatre's goals are to provide OPPORTUNITIES which is the main focus in their Mission Statement. To accomplish this on a yearly basis they have to come up with different show types, look back on the past seasons and be able analyse their success by the kind of turnout there was for auditions, actual show attendance and by looking through ticket data to see if the audience had a history with the organisation During the current year (2017) 3 musical shows have been presented. Spamalot in March with an all adult cast and Grease in June for teens/adults and recently Snow White took place with a cast of 5 through 12 years with much parent involvement. All casts included about 55 members. Auditions for a fourth show 'Little Shop of Horrors" will take place early July for a production in October. The first three shows of the season included members of all ethnic minorities. All auditions are open to any member of the public who show sufficient interest and have the necessary talent. No charge is made to anyone of any age to be a cast member as Spotlight Theatre believes that no one should be precluded from taking part because of financial considerations. To close the 2017 season A Christmas Broadway Show is planned in December. Other fundraisers will take place throughout the year eg. Car Washes, Yard Sales, Social Events etc but ticket sales remain the prime source of income. Sponsorships have been obtained throughout the past several years totaling about $8,000 and is hoped to be improved on now that Spotlight as its own premises
