Child Advocacy Center services are free to Frederick County children and families who may have experienced abuse and are referred by one of our partner agencies in the community. The Friends of the Child Advocacy Center's mission is to support the services provided by the Child Advocacy Center of Frederick, MD. We advocate for and promote awareness of the needs of children who have been exposed to adverse childhood experiences (family violence; sexual, physical, and emotional abuse; and/or neglect) and their non-offending family members/caregivers. We advocate for and promote prevention of maltreatment and other adverse childhood experiences. We generate public support for the services of the Child Advocacy Center through presentations, fundraising, and community activities. We make available specialized treatment programs for children to overcome the trauma of abuse.

Home Friends of the Child Advocacy Center Child Abuse Prevention in Frederick County Maryland Here in Frederick County the number of abused children served at the Child Advocacy Center CAC has continued to trend up. Last year 77 of the children referred to CAC were victims of sexual abuse. Several of the children had experienced more than one type of abuse. Twothirds of the children served were females.
