This February, the Beta Omicron chapter of Gamma Phi Beta at Oklahoma City University hosted its annual Philanthropy Week, raising over $2,000 for Girls on The Run. Under the leadership of Philanthropy Chair Abby Hammer (Oklahoma City) and Assistant Philanthropy Chair Teagan Sharkey (Oklahoma City) , the sisters planned a week full of events to promote “Building Strong Girls,” all leading up to the infamous Pancake Palooza on Friday night! Reflecting on the week’s success, Philanthropy Chair Abby Hammer shared: “One of the things I love about Girls on the Run is how it not only builds healthy lifestyle habits within young girls but also helps build their confidence and learn how to make tough decisions. I would not be who I am today if it weren’t for the guidance and support from my mom and grandma, and it’s incredible that young girls can get this same support through GOTR.” For Gamma Phi Beta sisters across the country, Beta Omicron’s Philanthropy Week serves as a shining example of how chapters can make a tangible difference in their communities while staying true to the mission of Building Strong Girls.
