Congratulations to Sarah Kramer and April Pierzchalski, Registered Nurses at the Aspirus Stevens Point Clinic – Hoover Rd, on being recent winners of the Southeast Region’s DAISY Foundation Award for Extraordinary Nurses! 🌼 They were nominated by a co-worker who witnessed their incredible care. A patient came into the clinic for shingles treatment but was later seen pacing in the parking lot, confused and in pain. Recognizing he needed help, the front desk staff alerted the nurses, and Sarah and April quickly brought him back inside. They connected him with Dr. Dotti, a neurologist, who prescribed a medication that made a life-changing difference. One week later, the patient returned with flowers to thank the nurses who, in his words, "saved my life." After seeing six different doctors without relief, he shared, "I'm a new person now." The patient was even present during the DAISY Award presentation, where he was brought to tears when reunited with the nursing staff who made such an impact on his life.
