In honor of Memorial Day, both on and off-duty members of the Department spent Saturday morning at several community events, remembering the fallen heroes of Upper Darby Township. Truck 37 and Squad 26 were on hand at the Drexel Hill Little League’s Memorial Day Mayhem Softball Tournament at Dermond Field. Members there held American flags and took part in a ceremony to honor the hundreds of Township residents who have given their lives in service to our nation. Later in the morning, Engines 36 and 74 joined members of the Clifton Heights American Legion post in placing grave marker flags at St. Charles Cemetery. In addition, flags were placed at Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery with members of the Archer-Epler VFW Post 979. We are grateful and honored to have been invited to take part in these events and would like to wish everyone an enjoyable and safe Memorial Day Weekend! (fb)
