🆘 Another life is about to be ended due to the shelters incompetence, unless he is saved NOW. The reasoning this time? Allergies. 🆘 We’ve recently posted about our local shelter, OC Animal Care, and how they are killing healthy and adoptable dogs daily! Everest is another name that’s come up on their list, and to say we’re infuriated is an understatement. Everest is a GOOD and EASY boy, and deserves SO MUCH MORE THAN THIS!!! Everest came into the shelter very timid, severely underweight with pressure sores and missing fur. It was clear he had a rough life, but he was still so sweet despite it all. ❤️‍🩹 Everest is now a healthy weight, his fur is growing in and his scars are starting to heal. He is no longer timid and loves time out of his kennel. He absolutely LOVES to play fetch and will return the ball every time, like the goodest boy he is. He will also happily take all the pets you have to give. 🫶🐾 He’s treat motivated and would be easy to train. Everest already has a head start on his training because he already knows sit, shake, down, and probably more that hasn’t been tested yet. He even walks well on leash! When he gets overly excited he can leash climb, but he is very easily distracted with treats. He did not leash climb when he first entered the shelter, so this very well may be the stress of being in the shelter for so long. 🆘 Fred needs somewhere to land by Saturday, or he will end up in the shelter! 🆘 Repost @standupforpitsfoundation He is safe.....for now. Once again a precious suffering soul was saved today from the streets of Los Angeles and once again the @standupforpitsfoundation is funding all his medical bills. He was taken from the street directly to the hospital where he has been seen by the doctor already. We believe he is just a baby. Maybe 1 year old at most. He is not chipped, not neutered and has vomitted once since being at the hospital but is otherwise doing great. They said he is loving and adorable weighing in around 55 pounds. Tomorrow he will be bathed and today they are doing all his diagnostics. We are doing blood, fecal and tick born tests. Full check up and they are cleaning his ears and going to watch him closely overnight. They also put him on dewormer. If he is medically cleared he will be neutered on Wednesday. We will keep him in hospital until SATURDAY to make sure he does well after surgery. PLEASE LISTEN UP EVERYONE- THIS IS WHERE YOU ALL COME IN.... if Fred - does not have a reputable rescue committment, adopter or foster by Saturday - he will go to a shelter and like many, he will likely not get out alive. Leaving him on the street to die, not get medical care, neutered and to safety was not an option so we are doing all we can to give him the very best chance at a life he deserves. We have no idea how he is with cats or dogs. All we know is a piece of human filth abandoned him and thankfully he is now safe and getting what he needs. Again, someone is going to have to step up for him by Saturday. This will cost us about $2000 so we have a Fred fundraiser at the link on our BIO and ask you all consider throwing a few bucks in it to help. This is a constant nightmare we are dealing with in Los Angeles and so many times we are the only ones taking on the thousands upon thousands it takes to save these street dogs @laanimalservices and @lacoanimals should be saving.
