United States Animal Health
USAHA, since 1897, is a science-based, non-profit organization that with state, federal, industry and academic partners to control livestock diseases in the US. THE MISSION OF THE USAHA IS TO: SERVE AS A FORUM FOR COMMUNICATION AND COORDINATION AMONG STATE AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENTS, UNIVERSITIES, INDUSTRY AND OTHER GROUPS ON ISSUES OF ANIMAL HEALTH AND DISEASE CONTROL, ANIMAL WELFARE, FOOD SAFETY AND PUBLIC HEALTH; SERVE AS A CLEARINGHOUSE FOR NEW INFORMATION AND METHODS THAT MAY BE INCORPORATED INTO LAWS, REGULATIONS, POLICY AND PROGRAMS; AND ACT TO DEVELOP SOLUTIONS TO ANIMAL-HEALTH RELATED ISSUES BASED ON SCIENCE, NEW INFORMATION AND METHODS AND THE ABILITY TO DEVELOP A CONSENSUS FOR CHANGING LAWS, REGULATIONS, POLICIES AND PROGRAMS.
