The Athens Farmers Market exists to foster a dynamic economic and educational connection between comm PLACEs mission is to promote a strong, accessible local food culture in Athens, Georgia. To achieve this mission, PLACE pursues four interconnected goals: (1) creating opportunities to celebrate local food; (2) creating opportunities to grow and eat locally; (3) developing and facilitating educational opportunities around food; and (4) networking community members, organizations, and institutions to create, maintain, and strengthen mutually beneficial relationships that build a strong local food culture.
