North Clackamas Schools is proud to celebrates AAPI Heritage Month. Patsy Matsu Mink (1927-2005) was an attorney and politician from Hawaii who was the first woman of color elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1965 and the first Asian-American woman to serve in Congress. She served in the U.S. House of Representatives for 24 years, initially from 1965 to 1977, and again from 1990 until her death in 2005.
