GLBT Advocacy & Youth Services, Inc. dba Free2Be is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit community service organization. Free2Be works to end violence while advocating for the Human & Civil Rights of Sexual & Gender Minorities.In October 2014 we re-branded as Free2Be and initiated the first and only anti-violence project designed specifically for the under-served gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer people of Alabama. This project is called the Free2Be Safe Anti-Violence Project. We receive funding from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) through the Federal Victims of Crime Act and the Federal Family Violence Prevention and Services Act.We focus our work within the state of Alabama but provide resource referrals nation-wide. We currently provide direct services in Huntsville, Birmingham, and Mobile. All services are free to our clients.
