Work of Christ Community
The Work of Christ Community grew out of the charismatic movement. It was formally established in 1974 as an ecumenical Christian community. Today the Work of Christ consists of ~500 adults & children and includes Catholics, Lutherans, Evangelical Protestants, and Eastern Orthodox members. The mission of the Work of Christ is to evangelize and disciple individuals & families in a fervent, daily Christian life through Christian community. The Work of Christ seeks to make a contribution to Christian unity by serving as a practical model of cooperative ecumenism. The Work of Christ belongs to the Sword of the Spirit, a world-wide network of Christian communities. Through the Sword of the Spirit, the Work of Christ seeks to foster and build Christian communities in every nation and culture.
