We operate and maintain museums, historical properties, and research facilities, advocate for preservation, and consult with town officials and other interested parties on matters that affect the town's identity and sense of place.As custodians of Bridgton's official historical records, we provide a vital service to the town, as well as providing entertaining educational and cultural opportunities. Our appeal extends to neighboring communities, since Bridgton has traditionally been a commercial and business center for many of the surrounding towns. Narramissic, our carefully-restored historic house and farmstead, further broadens our appeal. The house and outbuildings sit in a nearly pristine landscape. With an unusually well-documented history, with largely original furnishings and artifacts, it provides a rare opportunity to illustrate the story of nineteenth-century northern New England hill farms.
