Fargo Moorhead Visual Artists

Fargo Moorhead Visual Artists (FMVA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and supporting the visual arts in the Fargo-Moorhead area. The organization fosters a vibrant community of artists by providing opportunities for exhibition, professional development, and networking.

Activities and Programs

FMVA organizes annual events such as the Studio Crawl, a popular free event allowing the public to visit artists' studios, observe demonstrations, and purchase artworks. This event encourages community engagement with local artists and their work. Additionally, FMVA offers workshops, seminars, critiques, and artist talks to enhance members' skills and knowledge.

Partnerships and Exhibitions

FMVA collaborates with local organizations, including the Plains Art Museum, to host preview exhibitions before the Studio Crawl. These collaborations facilitate the display of artworks from participating artists, further promoting the visual arts in the region. FMVA also participates in the FMVA BIG Art Exhibition, held at the Hjemkomst Center in collaboration with the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County. This exhibition showcases a wide range of art forms, including ceramics, glasswork, photography, videography, illustration, sculpture, painting, and woodcarving.
