The organization aims to promote worker justice and support working individuals through solidarity with labor unions, parishes, and other organizations.
History
The Catholic Labor Network was formed in the aftermath of significant labor events in the 1990s, particularly the Staley lockout in Decatur, Illinois, which galvanized labor priests and activists to organize a conference, ultimately leading to the network's establishment in 1996. Fr. Sinclair Oubre has been actively involved since its inception and serves as the Spiritual Moderator of the group.
Mission

Clete Kiley, who has been involved in labor and immigration issues for many years.

The Catholic Labor Network collaborates with initiatives like the Kalmanovitz Initiative for Labor and the Working Poor at Georgetown University. This initiative focuses on empowering workers to build an equitable economy by convening labor organizations, scholars, and policymakers. The Catholic Labor Network's work supports the broader goals of worker justice and economic equity through these partnerships.
Activities and Reports
