Friday afternoon before our first member started their trip home, we had the sweetest delivery as a send off. Auntie and uncle surprised us with a cupcake cake that had a picture straight from the back of our t-shirts this year. The video represents us as a Ohana… at the beginning we were all separate individuals- we all come from different backgrounds, cultures, places, upbringings and so much more and yet by the end of the week we were one family! When we bring all of our strengths and weaknesses together as a team we are leaving as a whole unit! (fb)

Friday afternoon we took a trip over to the Purdy’s Nuts, where they have macadamia and kukui nuts that they harvest by hand. With having a larger team we had the opportunity to help gather and start to shell a large portion of kukui nuts that will then be dried further, shelled and roasted for them to use in their production line up. After this we had the opportunity to crack our own macadamia nuts to taste them, they their macadamia blossom honey with coconut and purchase a few goodies to take home! This farm everything is done by hand when they have a moment to complete the whole process. After the rest of the farm your aunties kids embraced our team and showed them many traditional Makahiki Hawaiian games, such as Konane (checkers), Haka Moa (one legged chicken fight) and a dodge ball variant.
