Friends, we have an update today about Shadow, the sad little abandoned senior we took in two weeks ago. Last week she had a surgery to remove some painful, rotting teeth and a mammary mass. The good news is that her mouth is much more comfortable and she's feeling better, but the bad news is that the biopsy of her mass did show grade 3 metastatic mammary cancer. At this point, further surgery would not be curative. We don't know how things are going to progress for her or how much time she has, but we do know that she had a pretty terrible life prior to her rescue, and she deserves a chance to know love and comfort as a pampered pet. We would love to find a compassionate soul with a heart of gold to give sweet Shadow a loving hospice home! She's a gentle soul with simple needs and loves to be close to her person. Shadow is safe in foster care, we're going to give her anything in the world that she wants and everything she needs, and even if she never finds a home we're going to cherish her until she takes her last breath. We have listed her on our website as one of our special needs hospice dogs and would love to see her chosen by someone who loves her as much as we do! (fb)

Rosa May update! She's the little girl we took in last week who's unable to move her hind legs because of a back injury, and the TLC she's getting in her foster home has made such a difference. She's relaxed so much, is eating like a champ, has had a little haircut, and is so much more alert than she was when she came to us. We've also been touched with the overwhelming support she has received from her followers! One of our foster moms has lent a stroller so she'll be able to have some community outings, we have a follower who has messaged us about donating a doggy wheelchair if she needs it, and we have a canine physical therapist who's going to be visiting Rhode Island in July who has offered to give her some healing treatments. Rosa has a whole team behind her, and we are feeling more confident that we're going to be able to restore some quality to her life. She's a long way from being ready for adoption and we know that this is a marathon, not a sprint. Rosa, we're going to be with you every step of the way! (fb)
