Friends of Gonzales Animal Shelter, Inc
Reducing pet overpopulation, providing free spay/neuter to animals of low income persons, rescuing cats, dogs and horses from situations of cruelty or neglect. Finding new homes for homeless cats and dogs. We have managed the City's cat shelter for 18 years and maintained "no-kill" status the whole time. Now we are focusing on preventing cats and dogs from having to go to a shelter. Our two main programs are Community Cats Colonies which we started in this area and also the Rescue People project for individuals who rescue and keep abandoned or stray cats and dogs but need financial help with spay/neuter and other veterinary services as well as quality food and winter sheltering.
