Today, a work of art at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC was attacked by protesters. As we have stated before, the Association of Art Museum Directors continues to believe that attacks on works of art cannot be justified, regardless of motive. Art crosses boundaries of time and place to underscore the creativity that people everywhere have expressed, and they represent our shared humanity.
