Emerging Industries Training Institute's (EITI) mission is to empower individuals striving to improve their quality of life by providing access to opportunities that encourage individual growth and nurture economic self-sufficiency through high growth employment.EITI meets it mission through a commitment to: Motivate and prepare those disengaged from the workforce for success in today's competitive labor market; Encourage local businesses to look to a nontraditional labor pool for a quality workforce; Develop and deliver cutting edge curricula; Provide customized placement services to businesses that save time and money; Offer support services that lead to long term job retention and self-sufficiency; Close the skill gaps between job-seekers and employment opportunities creating a high demand labor force.Educational ModelAn EITI education is designed to provide trainees with access to opportunities and tools to succeed in higher education, work, and citizenship. Through personalized learning experiences, trainees learn and master skills needed for the rigorous work of post- secondary life. EITI's education design has seven core elements, each aligned with the others:High standards and clear learning objectivesA sense of communityMore time for learningA balanced curriculumA variety of teaching methodsRigorous and ongoing assessmentExtra support for students as neededTo establish a foundation for success, EITI trainees will learn and master:Thinking Skills: Trainees will be able to apply classroom learning to their real world experiences in a relevant and valuable way. Using higher-order thinking skills including critical thinking, creativity, decision-making, problem solving, reasoning and knowing how to learn.Life Skills: Trainees will demonstrate development of personal qualities of individual responsibility, self-management, confidence, and integrity.Statement of PurposeThis corporation is a nonprofit public benefit corporation and is not organized for the private gain of any person. It is organized under the Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law for charitable purposes. The purposes for which this corporation is formed are exclusively charitable within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986.Emerging Industries Training Institute, Inc. is licensed to teach within the entire State of Michigan, currently focused on the economically challenged urban areas.
